What happens in the Cohorts

Weekly Group Lessons

Join a weekly group session with other like-minded students. Lessons cover content applicable to all students in the group, allowing for skill building toward success in any field. Lessons include focus topics for the week that build toward a group goal to be accomplished by the end of the cohort.

1:1 Personalized Sessions

Each student will enter the cohort with an idea of what their personal skillset is and where they need extra support. Individually, students will work with a teacher to determine optimal professional pathways based on interest and current circumstances so actionable steps can be tailored to the direction the student wishes to take.

Portfolio Development

Students will be tasked with portfolio projects to boost their resumes. Additionally, a CV-style resume and LinkedIn profile will be polished to attract employers and/or clients for entrepreneurial students. Weekly action steps will be taken toward personal goals.

Network Building

Students will connect with business leaders and organizations through low-pressure, informational style interviewing techniques. These connections will serve as a basis for students to begin building a professional network. Opportunities are more reliant on WHO you know rather than WHAT you know. The WHAT can be learned, the WHO must be built and cultivated.

How it Works

Single seats are available for purchase, or an organization can purchase the full Cohort and fill the seats with their own student body. The upcoming Founders Cohort is available at a discounted pilot rate. Single seats are eligible for a scholarship rate. Seats for the Founders Cohort are $995 at full price with the potential for a $500 scholarship and/or payment plans. A 12-Seat Cohort ranges from $6,000 - $10,000 depending on the scope or work and contract agreed upon with the organization. 50% up front to reserve the seat and 50% due Week 4.

You will attend a weekly 90 min group lesson, a 1:1 individual lesson with the teacher, and complete outside of class time tasks applicable to both the group lesson for the week and your own personal goal. Optional but encouraged brief morning meet ups will be available week day mornings.

Graduate the Cohort with:

  • A job-ready resume that will push your details to the top
  • An optimized LinkedIn Profile
  • A minimum of 3 practice informational interviews with feedback
  • Action steps post-cohort to continue momentum
  • A completed Portfolio Project

Weekly lessons will take place based on the availability most suited to the students in each cohort and be a set time each week. 1:1s will be scheduled directly with students with the intention of flexibility for moms. Daily Rise and Shines during the week will be from 8am - 8:30 am MST Monday - Friday.

Graduates will be job-ready with an increased CV and network, OR business launch-ready by the end of the 8 weeks. The intention is to identify your path and smooth out your action steps with you so when it is time to graduate, you are confident in moving forward toward your goal.

Executive U is fueled by a heart for The Mom and we understand that mothers need flexibility for their children, their schedules, and all the unforeseen. Everything with E/U is remote to remove barriers of transportation and childcare. Weekly lessons will be available for replay, although live attendance is highly encouraged. All replays will be required to complete a quiz, ensuring that the student has fully absorbed the content. Individual sessions are intended to be scheduled with flexibility. Cancellations may not be rescheduled during the cohort timeframe, but students will be allowed one makeup session after the cohort.

The Employer Council

Community Leaders Making a Difference

The Employer Council is a group of community leaders, business owners, entrepreneurs, and mentors who recognize the unmatched value of Mom. The backbone of our world is mothers. Without mothers, our houses are colder, our food less seasoned, and our phones don't ring. But Moms need support from community leaders to build skills and find work that is flexible to their role in their children's lives and dedicated to placing them professionally where they will thrive.

Research shows that motherhood enhances critical workplace skills like time-management, multitasking, communication and empathy. Surveys reveal that most employees believe working mothers make businesses more successful and rate them highly in leadership qualities

Areas you can serve on the council are:

  • Participating in a student's informational interview - they will interview you for 20 minutes virtually, and their teacher will collect your feedback
  • Providing E/U with Portfolio Projects for students to complete. For example, when was the last time you called that long list of old clients to check in? That can be a Portfolio Project. Need some content for Socials? Portfolio Project.
  • Leading a 20 - 40 minute remote workshop to introduce your field and the kind of employee the industry looks for
  • Providing application opportunities to students (all students are vetted even before entering the Cohort, so you are getting ambitious
  • See a need that you can fill for the students? See a need a student can support you with? That is the ecosystem we are building with the Employer Council

The Council Commitment

At Executive U, we know your most precious resource is Time. Therefore, we want to invite you to participate as little or as fully as you would like.

Being a council member may simply be reaching out when you have an opening (especially remote and hybrid options) or as intensive as leading a workshop of your choice.

The only requirement for our Employer Council members is that you have a mom, so you know how important it is to support them.
